An dieser Stelle möchten wir uns bei unseren zahlreichen Unterstützer:innen und Partner:innen bedanken, die mit uns gemeinsam die Stadt Nach Acht in Leipzig auf die Beine stellen. Wir alle wissen, dass sie eine Konferenz ein Miteinander aus aktiven, enthusiastischen, professionellen und kreativen Menschen, Institutionen, Unternehmungen, Einrichtungen, Strukturen und Netzwerken ist. Die wollen wir an dieser Stelle kurz vorstellen:
The Bundesstiftung LiveKultur was established in 2021 after a year of planning by the Live Musik Kommission – the Federal Association of Music Venues in Germany e.V. (LiveKomm for short). The foundation's goals are the preservation of significant cultural spaces and venues, the development of funding concepts for live culture, and the recognition of live culture as a valuable, worthy of protection and deserving of support cultural form.
The Department of Culture of the City of Leipzig is responsible for the city's cultural institutions as well as the funding of independent art and culture. This includes not only the city's own enterprises and museums, but also the support of the independent art and culture scene. The position of the specialist commissioner for night-time culture is also anchored within the department.
MiNa is a conference format bringing together various actors and stakeholders from Central Germany. It also sees itself as a platform that connects actors from culture, administration and politics. Its aim is to make the significance of nightlife visible, discuss regional challenges and exchange perspectives. In panels, talks and networking formats, topics such as financing, conflict management, public relations, club culture and urban development are addressed – complemented by impulses from across Germany. This year, MiNa is becoming part of Stadt Nach Acht.
Initiative Musik is the central federal funding organisation for popular music and jazz. It advocates for a diverse musical landscape – with future-proof economic structures and a clear commitment to ecological sustainability and social justice. It supports artists, the live music scene and music companies throughout Germany in realising their projects. In addition, Initiative Musik promotes networks and infrastructures.
BPM Sachsen is the statewide point of contact for pop culture and popular music in Saxony. Its goal is to network the music scene in the Free State and make it strong and future-proof. BPM promotes collaboration between music creators, institutions and the music industry – regionally and beyond – for more creative exchange, new ideas and joint projects. This keeps pop culture in Saxony vibrant, allows it to develop further and enables long-term structures to emerge.
The Livekommbinat Leipzig is the association of Leipzig's clubs and live music venues. It advocates for improving the framework conditions of these cultural and creative spaces, thereby contributing to the lived social, artistic and cultural diversity of the city. At the invitation of Livekommbinat, a kick-off meeting took place to incorporate topics, people and needs into the preparation of the conference at Elipamanoke, with 70 participants.
The Netzwerk Nacht Konsil is a nationwide interest group consisting primarily of individuals and representatives from municipal administrations with a public mandate. What all members have in common is a thematic focus on night-time culture. As an advisory body, the Nacht Konsil facilitates knowledge transfer in order to further develop topics relating to night-time culture together, involving diverse actors from various disciplines. The network serves as a platform for exchange and mutual inspiration, with the aim of effectively supporting and advancing the work of its members at the municipal level.
The LiveMusikKommission, or LiveKomm for short, has been the nationwide network and partner of the club and festival scene in Germany since 2012. As a federal association, LiveKomm represents more than 830 music clubs and festivals in over 100 cities and municipalities. The connections between passion and commerce, art and business, social orientation and the rebellious attitude of the underground are the hallmarks of the association. At the heart of everything for all members, however, is the music.
Since 1996, the Drug Scouts have been providing information on drugs, safer use and safer nightlife. In keeping with the motto "information instead of prejudice", the Drug Scouts support young people in exploring their own needs regarding intoxication and party culture and in raising awareness of the risks of drug consumption in order to prevent drug emergencies and other harm. Their primary goal is to promote responsible substance use, minimise health-damaging behaviour and enable a risk-conscious and enjoyable approach to psychoactive substances.
The Nachtrat Leipzig serves as the bridge between the night-time economy, (night-time) cultural creatives, citizens, public authorities and civil society institutions in the city. It advocates for a diverse, sustainable and vibrant night-time culture and promotes dialogue and collaboration among all stakeholders.
Since 2011, stadtnachacht.de has been engaging as a think & do-tank, blog and online resource collection with space-relevant questions in the subject area of urban life and nightlife, with a particular focus on the urban night-time economy and its influence on urban space. The primary disciplinary approaches are urban and regional planning, urban geography and urban design, incorporating relevant findings from other professions and academic disciplines such as economics, law, cultural studies and ethnology. The aim of stadtnachacht.de is the transfer of knowledge between urban researchers, planners, municipalities and the actors of urban nightlife. This is achieved through academic publications, journalistic articles, as well as practical examples and (planning) strategies.
SONAR – Safer Nightlife Berlin organises information stands at events, training sessions for nightlife staff and provides individual counselling and support on the topic of (party) drugs. SONAR Berlin stands for the health of partygoers and harm reduction in consumption. Everyone working in the project does so in an accepting, appreciative manner and without a wagging finger. The Berlin-based team relies on information and skill-building as the foundation for (self-)responsible behaviour.
The SRL – the Association for Urban, Regional and Spatial Planning – is a nationwide network of almost 2,000 experts from all areas of spatial planning. Since 1969, the SRL has represented the interests of planners as a professional association and serves as a point of contact for federal, state and local governments in implementing the interests of society – politically independent and economically self-sufficient.
As an association, the SRL contributes the concentrated knowledge of its members to all German legislative processes relating to planning law. In terms of professional policy, the SRL advocates for the economic interests of its members and for high-quality training. It represents the interests of urban planners in the chambers of architects.
